So Far....

It has been 25 hours now. I tried to work around the house. Putting laundry away, unloading dishwasher, taking dog out. More I moved about the weaker I felt. Been laying down for an hour. Starting to get the ache in lower back and shins. Cold chills or goosebumps. I went ahead and called in to work for tomorrow. Wasn't sure if I could handle it. Waiting for the bathroom runs to kick in. The constipation is over so I know its coming. I did eat a sandwich late today and thats it for all day. How you all think I'm coming along? You all have been so great. I even put on the refridge that I was 24 hours free. Trying to embrace the pains and side effects like you all suggested.

I have a nerve pill (I think it is, came from my foot doc) called gambapentin. I am going to take one of those. Does anyone have these? And one of my prescription ibuprofens.

Got a sober day in. That is very good.

Are you expecting serious withdrawl symptoms? Have you consulted a doctor about quitting?

None of us know precisely why the Gaba was prescribed to you, Ceedaisyscraps.
If you're taking it for a different reason, or not as directed, I'd think again.

The best place to get medical advice is the Dr. who prescribed the medication.

Hi Creed: Congratulations on Day One--I'm right here with you. I tried to keep busy today as well, but ust remember to take it easy and be gentle with yourself during these first few days. And I agree with Tinman--best to check with your doctor to detox safely.

Looking forward to seeing you on Day Two and hearing how you're doing.

Congratulations on making the decision to quit, please be careful if you are trying to detox alone. Get yourself to the doctor if at all in doubt. Good luck and stay strong.
