I see a shrink for meds management, once every three months. I've been on anti-depressants for decades now. (I come by it naturally -- both of my parents had mental illnesses.)

Anyway, for the last few appointments -- nearly a year I guess -- she's been urging me to stop drinking. It is a depressant, it's not helping, and etc. Last time I actually left thinking, "I should find another shrink." !!! What does THAT tell me?!?

So today I can go in with a clear conscience and tell her that it's been a month as of tomorrow with zero alcohol. I didn't stop for her, but it will feel good anyway.

Thank you for being here, SR people!! You all help so much!!

I was at mine on Tuesday as I am changing meds. I hadn't been to see them at the hospital for 2 years - last time I was there I was still drinking. It felt great to say "yeah I'm sober now and for quite some time". She was happier than I was! Saying how well I had done etc. I came out feeling quite good.

Makes a change from lots of other doctor's visits with tears and snot dripping from me lol.

God it is good to be sober
