Day 28 rehab - Kelly
We had 2 graduates today, from the program - they gave great goodbye comments to the group.
There are around 400 people on the waiting list, to get into Homewood, they fly in from the west coast of Canada (Vancouver, etc.) 1,000's of miles to get here!
Lady from Texas arrived last week, also.
Talked about our Higher Powers this morning.

As I read SR on a daily bases I am so astonished
at how so many folks are addicted to drugs these
days. So much more than I could ever imagine.
When I was young all i heard about was dope, like
in weed, doobies, marijauna.....Or maybe I was so
naive in what all was around me. Thank God.
When I entered rehab in 1990 for alcoholism i was
still so in the dark about what all was available in the
way of drugs and alcohol. I didnt know about Xanax
and other meds.
Of course over the years I have been educated thru
my recovery program about the addiction of drugs
and alcohol as it attracts so many young people as
well as old and inbetween.
Addiction is not funny or to be taken lightly as I see
so many suffer and die from it. Thank God there is help
and hospitals, rehabs, recovery programs to help all.
I am sooooo grateful that I was given the opportunity
to get help for my alcohol addiction 20 yrs ago and Im
still here to share my own experiences, strengths and hopes
with others that they too may fine help to learn to live a
happy, healthy honest life without addiction.
Just like you Kelly, as you continue to come here to SR
sharing ur own ESH with many who wish to read or listen.
Like me, you have the knowledge to help the newcomer
learn to live a day at a time with a program of recovery
in place.
