Good to see you again, Freeport!
I hope you come around a bit more often first of all because your story is one that many of us identify with and second of all....because SR is so awesome with sobriety help!
Check out the fitness forum. Lots of good support there!
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS on your sober time!

Missy, yes, somewhere along the line I buried those fantasies that I could drink again. Actually, I think I buried those before I began this sober journey 2 years and a day ago. Perhaps some fits and starts with sobriety before May 11, 2009 –– a month here, a few weeks there –– taught me that there would be no middle ground for this alcoholic. Now, if I have to give up chocolate for life... that would be depressing!
Binder, I too shudder to think of the time I wasted drinking, but that makes these days of sobriety so much the better. Better sleep, better productivity, better health. Making up for lost time.
And thanks Coffeenut for recommending Fitness forum. Have never checked it out but will do so.
Thank you everyone for kind words!

Glad you posted Freeport, and Congrats on 2 Years! I'm a little over 2 years myself and I notice that in the last year I've put on a few pounds or should I said more than a few pounds. I remember early in recovery everyone would tell me not to worry about the weight, worry about it later..Well it's later and maybe I'll check out that fitness forum to or at least you got me thinking about it... Be proud of yourself Freeport and keep up the good times..
CONGRATS ON 2 YEARS SOBER!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your story. As one of the "newly" sober, I can tell you that inspiring posts from SR members make difficult days a little bit easier to navigate!
