Day 20 rehab - Kelly (continued)

Great sharing this morning - it is so important to get rid of resentments towards parents for things they said or did, I can see.

Bowling in 35 minutes!

Some of my friends here are graduating tomorrow, I've been with them for 20 days (they started the 35 day program before me)....I shall miss them, but I'm getting phone #'s and email addresses for some of them (who live close by my house), so that we can go to AA meetings together after I have finished the program.

Kelly

The fellowship of people you've met in rehab can continue on in AA. I think it's an important part of the program.

Forgiving family members, especially our own parents
if they were sick with addiction and inflicked pain, whether
mentally, physically, emotionally, verbally, sexually is quite
hard to forget. I know thru my recovery that forgiving and
letting go of resentments will help one heal and grow into
a healthier person, yet one can never forget the pain.

I know I cant. however I try to move on and be as happy
as I can to the best of my ability.

That parent was my mom and yesterday being Mother's Day,
hurts and Im still angry that I have to lie or cover up my feelings
of her or if asked did you call your mom. In recovery I have had
to divorce myself from her and the family because of the sickness
that is still there.

Anyway.....

Resentments will eat away at us, causing us to stay sick inside.
Emotionally, spiritually, physically sick. I have to remember to
forgive them for they know not what they do and did. To me they
or she knew. But nontheless.....i have to let it go.

Anyway.....

We meet many interesting people along our journey. Some we
have for a lifetime. Surrounding yourself with a good support
system so you wont have to travel alone is good.

Have a Happy Monday.
