Day 3 and onwards

.. feeling better than Day 1! ... Sleeping is still disturbed but I know it will get better with time but the energy and 'awakefulness' is improving. I have found a Buddhist group locally and they supposidly meet on Mondays so will go and look see.
I am coming to realize that just stopping the drink is not the cure as I was sober for a long time before. The mind (IMO where my HP is) needs to taught and enlightened as well. It took a while to figure that out
Just a short note that might help others ... I know it gets better, I have been there, it just takes time.

Congrats on day 3! I'm a "repeat offender" too..... went back to drinking after years of sobriety and got even sicker this time.

Like you, I know now that my inner growth is vital to my recovery. The first few months, though, all I could do was focus on being sober one day at a time. You're right - it's a process/journey.

Glad you're starting to feel better. Keep reading and posting - this is a great place!

Good for you for knowing that stopping drinking is just the beginning. The Buddhist meeting sounds like it could be a good place for your spiritual growth. Good for you!

I'm glad you found this. Buddhism isn't for everybody, but it, after much searching has found it's place in my world. I hope it aids you in your journey as well. Keep us posted.
