my liver test came back GREAT

woo hoo.. after being to afraid to go to the DR. certain I had bad liver issues. I finally went after being sober for a month and the tests came back normal. Looks like maybe I will have a long sober life.. WHAT A NICE RELEIF.

Great to hear that, wander2. You certainly helped that test by being sober for a month. I do hope you are going to continue now that you have the all clear. Is that your plan?

You bet.. being sober is my new buzz. Beats the heck out of the old one.

Me too! I haven't been to the Dr's for any liver tests, but I can feel my body is thanking me for my sobriety every single day. I feel so much better after 15 days sober. I can't imagine throwing that away now.

Consider yourself blessed with good health, and move forward with your recovery!

In an otherwise healthy individual, liver enzymes return to normal within 7-10 days of alcohol abstinence. However, simple fatty liver takes 3-6 months to reverse with total abstinence in normal weight active people, but fibrosis and cirrhosis never goes away.

Use your good liver tests as an emotional boost and sobriety incentive, as opposed to a comprehensive clean bill of health....just my 2 cents and best of luck!
