Akua: "What about the grocery store?"
Yeah, the grocery store is a problem too. That would have to be number 7 on my list (i.e., stay out of the grocery store) because all the stores in my area sell every type of alcoholic beverage imaginable. What I do is make a deal with myself. I can buy any non-alcoholic beverage in the store; I just can't buy alcohol. Milk, almond milk, fruit juice, vegetabe juice, tea, herb tea, coffee, flavored coffee, sparking water, soda pop, crystal light, snapple, etc. You get the idea. Problem then is I walk out of the grocery store with every beverage imaginable (excluding alcohol) and no food. Then I'm back to the grocery store for food, or maybe not. There has to be a better solution than this. Susan

All the stores/gas stations sell beer and alcohol here, too.
I said liquor store because that is the general consensus of where one would buy liquor.
I work at a store that sells booze/beer so it is a daily 'thought' in my head. Luckily, I don't work near it -but it is 'available'. Yes, simple things are a struggle that others' wouldn't understand.
So true, FJ...or any day that ends in Y!

Mscooterbrown. It was actually funnier when no one pointed out to ranger that frothyjay was well acquainted with alcoholics anonymous. I was just wondering how long it was going to take ranger to figure that out.
Ranger. I hope you have a sense of humor. Susan

Since alcohol no longer has a hold on me, I don't have to avoid bars, liquor stores, grocery stores, etc. Granted, I have no reason to go to the liquor store anymore and I only go to bars on the rare occassion to socialize with friends...I simply order a soda...they DO serve soda at bars I can't imagine NOT going to the grocery store just because they have a liquor department, I mean, I gotta eat! I don't say this to brag, I just think that being constantly "on guard" is no way to live. I hope everyone can get to that place someday.
