Got_my_license_"back"_today

14 months ago, just weeks after getting arrested for a 2nd dui (10 months after the first - both resulted in totalled cars), my license was suspened for one year.

I just got a 6 month temporary license today (6 months w/ a breathlizer in my car, then I'll be fully reinstated).

Very true, good sir! Congrats on getting it back. And i for one have appreciated your attitude with the whole situation -- no whining, no complaining -- just accepting responsibility and dealing with it. Nice to see!

Congratulations - now... think of the great responsibility you have been given back. And more than anything count your blessings that this did not happen to you.

Very true Joe and it's something I'm very conscience of and grateful for.

I certainly had a choice in the matter for most of my drinking days, except in the end, I had no choice. Alcohol made the choice for me and I was utterly powerless, pathetic, and dangerous.

...but for the Grace of God go i

too true. I made some incredibly stupid decisions in my past, some to this day still make me cringe. I'm glad that you are now aware of the devastation driving drunk can cause. Too often, we kick ourselves for DUI's, etc.... however this is but a small sample of what can really happen, and I think it is important we (collectively) cherish that no longer you will ever have to worry about putting yourself in this situation again.

Congrats again

Congratulations on the progress you have made in recovery. I bet that having a set of wheels again gives you a great deal of freedom, something that many of us probably take for granted.
