Thank you for sharing RW - a great post that will help many. Being sober is the very best thing we can ever do for ourselves... because when we are and remain that way, everything else in our world falls into place.

Congrats on your sober time and the progress you have made in your recovery.

Today, I have a job that I honestly wouldn't have dreamed of when drinking... Basically, my life has completely changed. It has taken me places that I never dreamed of and I'm not even 5 months sober. I am so incredibly grateful.

With all of these good things that have happened, the best thing of all is - I DON'T HATE MYSELF ANYMORE.
Glad to hear this, friend. I recall some of your earlier posts, including the ones when you first started the job interview.

I hadn't thought about this, but your post shows that this forum does provide a journal of sorts that we can go back and read to gain some perspective.

Keep pushing on...

Thank you Reggie...I am so happy for you and needed a little reminder today of how much better life is without alcohol.

These words of yours resonate well within me deeply. Once I put down the drugs, my perspective automatically changed for the better. As with my life, I came to know a new freedom. I could now do things without the need to stymie my consensus with drugs. I now realized the power to not only put down dope, but to change my life for the better. What a blast of self-confidence and invigoration to have the ability to keep making better changes to my overall experience of life.
