Almost a Week, and Feeling Good!
Even though I wasn't an everyday drinker, I was practically one -- the days I didn't drink I was usually nursing a hangover!
I got past that CRAZY urge for "just one more drunken stupor, the worst ever, and then it'll be out of my system." I appreciate the comments here that helped me through it, and just being able to vent.
I already feel a boost of energy. I didn't realize how tired and sluggish I felt. This is great!
Only been to two meetings but hope to go to another one today. I'm not sure yet about AA for me, but it does do something for me just to walk into the room, hear other people's stories, and talk to one or two of them before or afterwards. That alone is HUGE for me.
Thanks for this forum!!

Great job FreeDance!!
It is a little scary going to those first meetings, what a huge step for you!! No matter which path you take to recovery, it is a great feeling to know we are not alone.
