New to SR, not new to the battle
Hello,
Iv been battling alcoholism for 9 yrs, since age 18. Iv had a couple years of sobriety in there, and often a a few weeks or months, but have always relapsed eventualy.
In recent months I havent tried hard to abstain, and worsened. In Feb I took my first trip to jail. A few days ago I got out of a crisis center after a 3 day stay. I slashed my wrist open. Didnt intend suicide, in was more like cutting gone wrong. Had been drinking all day when I did it and had very poor judgment. Now I can barely use my hand due to nerve damage.
This has been a huge wake up call. I am sure this is my last chance before I really mess up my life for a long time, or die. I am determined to never take another sip.
On day 5 now, and Im feeling great, and looking forward to feeling even better!
