Grr really fancy a drink
Rubbish day, didn;t get a job I went for, car failed MOT - more expense, husband been to the pub and come back perfectly fine, but nicely tipsy which I can't do, children dragging each other around the house in a large box (!) and I'm REALLY FED UP
Talk me out of it!
Talk me out of it!
Is there another indulgence, like chocolate or sweet treats? Or a cup of tea and some nice biscuits or a sandwich? Kickboxing or doing jumping jacks to get the energy out? Pushups, situps, hide and seek with the kiddos? Writing in a journal all the old times you got smashed and the consequences?
I've had the same urge all day too, only I know deep down it won't help so I'm not 'going there'. I have too much to lose and I'm not throwing away the best thing I've got going. You can get thru this. Be strong.

I've just been sitting quietly in their now deserted playroom reading - they've gone upstairs and are actually quiet now Just going to get the youngest one to bed and then I will have a candle lit bath, thanks for your kind words x
What's helpful to me is a little self talk along the lines of "of course I want a drink. I'm an alcoholic". And then to pick a specific way to tackle the feeling (the irritation, depression, exhaustion. whatever it is that is upsetting me).
Enjoy your bath

Just had a magical experieince to really uplift me. I was tucking my little 5 year old daughter into bed, and she told me a little story about her day and then roared with laughter. It made me laugh too, and we ended up just laughing our heads off for no real reason. I had tears pouring down my cheeks and her beautiful laugh was just like nothing I have heard for a long time. Maybe I do have a Higher Power after all
