Question

I took an Adderall that wasn't prescribed for me. Does that constitute a relapse? If so then that is the lamest relapse in the history of mankind. My therapist told me that that was a "slip".

I think that's a personal decision.

For me, if it was a prescription medication that I didn't have a prescription for, then that's not okay.

I admit I took it for a potential buzz, impulsively. But I didn't really feel anything. Personally I'm gonna give myself a mulligan for that one.

That's is sort of what I was getting at Anna. It is a prescribed stimulant. I normally don't just take medicine if I am not trying to accomplish an outcome. If it was to be more prepared for an alertness test then maybe that is reasonable. If it was just for the feeling, I guess it would be considered a relapse.

No offense suic, but that's sort of like saying I snorted a line for the buzz, but it didn't feel it so it doesn't count. I think you need to check your motivations. I'm not judging you, but you asked for an opinion.

How about an attempted relapse?

But seriously, your head is in a dangerous place if you're not looking at this as a huge mistake and take steps not to let it happen again.

Whether you decide to call it a relapse or not, at least see it as a wake up call suic,
I know from past experience the slope gets slippery very quick.

My advice is don't just shrug this off. Give it some thought.
what are the wider implications here?

If it wasn't prescribed...you took it for a buzz....sounds like an attempt to change your mindset.
If I took a shot of whiskey -felt it or not...I'd really have to consider all factors in why I even thought about doing it and what the feeling behind it was.

Well you can argue whether the adderall was a relapse or not, but the 3 bottles of MD 20/20 and 4 pints of Budweiser I'm pretty sure is a relapse.

Guess you made sure you were gounna have a relapse fo so. Where you goin from here? As flippant as what got you here? If you want to quit, you can, it is up to you. You will have to commit though. Decide to stop, and commit to quiting. Otherwise it won't work. Includes meds that aren't yours.

Good luck Bro. No offense...but the image on the helmet of your Avatar does not exactly exude confidence.

At this point I'd def feel that shot of Whiskey...no way that bad drink would go unnoticed as it went down. Wouldn't be enough...and I'd have to have a lot more That's why I don't drink when I'm sober.
