walked out of AA
"i still feel like i need a drink"
Willow, your own words "need", in particular, should tell you something . How are you controlling your drink? Can you always stop after the 1st one? Thank God I finally realized I couldn't stop with just one, once I got started. That fact added up to a huge problem. I was in denial. I really hope that you aren't in the same boat as I was.
I read in "Under the Influence" just last night that AA is NOT a treatment program. It offers support as does SB in helping drinkers STAY sober.
Are you sober now? Are you under a doctor's care?
I just have a month under my belt and I still feel at times that I NEED a drink. I am taking meds to help with the urges. Just last night I was in my garage. I walked past some beer stored out there (I hate beer, but love wine). Seeing it made me want it even though I dont like the taste. I walked on by into my house. I guess I need to get it out of my house and give to someone who can handle. No need to have temptation at my doorstep.
Good luck to you.
