(super nerdy comment alert) But in the words of darth vader to his son luke : You do not understand the power of the darkside, I have to obey my master.

Now how i relate this to alcohol and drug addiction. It all starts off so innocent but before you know it you are slaved into a relationship and the substance now becomes your master. You will do whatever you can to get "said" substance and to please your master.

Until the cycle is broken you will continue pleasing your master whilst hurting yourself in the process.

Its been around 160 days sober for me and alcohol is no longer my master, my best wishes go out to all those struggling with addiction. Once again become your own master.

In my twisted logic i would put it as.

Darth Vader = Helpless Addict
Dark Side = whatever substance

It is possible to redeem yourself, just as Darth Vader did lol.

lol...Star Wars... that is a cool analogy. Never thought of that one. Some others I thought of are Snape from Harry Potter. And also vampires. They only come out at night and have an insatiable thirst. How is that not an addict right?? The ones in Twilight only eat animal blood and are "abstinent". Lol so corny I know....
