if your family help you to recover from alcoholism what about codependency?

bearing in mind your codependency is a maladjustment to a bad/poor home/upbringing so i dont feel confident telling me family about my codie and asking for their help!!!kevin

also is codependency like being a alcie in that your it for life you just learn to live with it, or is it diff

I'm no expert...I definitely have had codependent relationships but I think its okay to ask for help getting well. Open communication and good boundaries are a healthy part of life and life includes relationships. If your family is part of the problem then family therapy might be abetted solution then not including them in your recovery.
