Keep in mind tho. The finish line is not the important part, the steps to get there is.

Wow very profound of me. I think I will pat myself on the back now.

Profound in deed.
The fact of the matter is for me...I am living now in sobriety rather than existing in a drunken state.
Besides
Everyday is a first day in a way. I just like the ride with you guys and dont ever want it to stop.
Here is a pat on your back from a fellow challenger.
Have a wonderful sober day.

Amen to that

Oooof - I can't believe it's been so long since I've been here!

Well, I fell off the wagon about half an hour ago and that made me think of this challenge again.

Yep, my diet has gone out the window for the sake of 10 minutes of eating pleasure.

Piri Piri chicken and curly fries!!! That's an extra hour in the gym tomorrow

Ah well, at least I'm still off the pop

Falling off the wagon and eating beats the heck out of falling off the wagon and drinking

Smudg3r- good to see you. The working out thing is the next on my list. I am starting to put on a few pounds from the icecream and chocolate. I guess that it is always something.
Wander- I cant agree more with that.
Have a good one. Back to working.

Too true wander

Dave - I don't like Chocolate or Ice Cream, so I decided after just a couple of days without booze that I would try to get fit. I also reasoned that if I was worn out each night, I would be more likely to stay off the pop.

I can't say it would work for everyone but it has certainly helped me.

I have to admit (as shallow as it sounds) I like the look of the new me.
....and my wife loves my redefined musculature (!)

Happy days....

Ya I've been hitting the gym too. I'm not sure I can say I have re-defined muscles. But I have dropped 20 pounds. Apparently alcohol has a lot of calories when drank in excess.

Checking in. Good job wander. I feel you on the work thing. It is actually kind of fun to handle the high stress situations now. Being sober is very cool in that aspect. keep on keepin on.

Congrats on your newfound sobriety wander....and to all posting here. Great thread!
I have almost 5 years in, but am just one drink away from a drunk. Relapsed 6 times in 17 years...this, my seventh attempt. It is a miracle for this alcoholic...I'll stay sober with you today!
All blesings
