Class of February 2011!
Hi ~ I didn't see that there was a thread created for this month yet. I know it's nearing the end but I thought we deserved a class too! LOL! Anyway, I am proud to say my Sober Birthday is February 16, 2011! Day 9 and Feeling Fine!

My sober date 9this is the first time i said it and mean it and KNOW I have the supprt and tools to do it all the way this time is Feb 14 2011.
I am 28 days off alcohol but only 10 off opiates, but I know i have to stop seperating the two seperate issues and just start observing my true sobrienty date off everything which is Feb 14th.
Im happy to be here (again) and so happy this wonderful forum is still here and all the wonderful fmiliar naes and new ones are too I know will be here for support, bc i finally (thanks to AA) have a lot but now that I see with truly sober eyes what I am up against, I KNOW I can use all I can.

So is anyone else out there treating themselves to special meals and frozen yogurt?!?!? LOL! FroYo has been my saving grace these past few days. When I have a craving to pick up some wine I head to the local FroYo shop and pile on all the goodies! I have also "allowed" myself to cheat on my diet to have french fries or whatever my heart desires at the moment. I figured as long as it's not wine, why not?!?!? Whatever works!!
I try to eat healthy during the week, but I allow myself to indulge on pizza, burgers, etc on the weekends as a reward for not drinking. Once I'm used to not drinking I'll cut it down to one day of poor eating though.
I'm re-posting from a different thread from earlier today.
TI have heard many people have sweet cravings when they quit. Not me...until yesterday.
Not unlike Linda Blair in the movie, The Exorcist, I spoke the following words to my boyfriend. "I want CAKE...or PIE...maybe CAKE and PIE!" My boyfriend loves sweets and hopped right on board. We were leaving the store with 2 cakes and a chocolate cream pie when we spotted the girl scouts sitting at a table full of cookies.
I picked up a box of Thin Mints and began reading the ingredients. My boyfriend whispered under his breath, "Don't do it!". So, I resisted the urge to ask if they were made with real girl scouts. And we went home with 4 boxes of cookies as well.
I think eating healthy makes me feel better in general but an occasional eating binge is a heck of a lot better than a drinking binge!!!
I look forward to hanging out with all of you for a long time.

Congratulations everyone!
I'll throw myself into the mix here - on day 20 and feeling great overall. I'm eating much better, staying hydrated, and taking vitamins again. The sugar cravings have been hitting me at night, but I bought a bunch of fruit which turns out to be healthier than eating an entire cake (what I would REALLY like to do).
SR has been so helpful for me these past few weeks. This is the longest I've been sober in over 4 years, and one of the most encouraging parts is that every morning I wake up grateful that I didn't drink the night before. Waking up hangover-free never gets old! Finally MorningAbby and NightAbby are working as a team again.
