Made it through a 3-day Weekend!!

Hi ~ This is probably the first 3 day weekend I've made it through sober in the past 10 years! I kept myself busy and man am I surprised at all I accomplished! It's amazing what you can get done not being drunk or hungover This is day 7 and I feel great! I did have a craving last night but as I have seen posted before it only lasts for a bit. I waited it out and read a magazine. Twenty minutes later it had passed! I am so glad I read that it will pass in only a matter of time. That's the first time I tried "waiting it out". I guess that's where a sponsor would come in handy?? I have also had dreams every night that I was drunk and when I have woken up I am so proud and thankful that it was only a dream! Whew! I feel so much more healthy already. I am hoping my skin starts to clear up pretty soon and maybe shed a few pounds. I plan on getting addicted to exercise! I know I need to give my body a little transition time and not shock it too much so I am going to wait a few more days. I am determined to get those liver numbers down by the time I get it checked again in 6 months! This time feels different for some reason. I can actually picture my "normal" future and see good things ahead! I am so blessed to have found this forum! Thank you all for all of your knowledge and experience. I love SR!

Cravings don't last too long, and the longer you're sober, the less they'll bother you. I rarely get them anymore.

A 3 day weekend is what caused me to quit. I was toxic on that Tuesday morning.

Congrats to you on making it.

Congratulations on your week sober (and long weekend too)....

Keep that positive attitude going (gratitude helps me when all else fails!) I know what you mean about getting things done when you don't have to nurse that hangover. Yea for you!!

Good job! Three day weekends can be tough, I find it amazing how long a day feels when you are up and out with the sun. So much you can get done when not nursing coffee in the dark!!

Keep on keeping on!

I used to DREAD three-day weekends because of what I knew I'd be like at the end of one.

I enjoy them now--they just aren't long enough, lol.
