TOPIC: Did U Know Alcohol Is The Best Solvent For Removing Things?
Hi Im Sharon. I am an Alcoholic
living here in Baton Rouge, La.
Spring is on it's way as I spot
green blades of grass poping
up in the yard and looking forward
to cranking up the mower that
first time. NOT.!!!:rotfxko
Did you know that alcohol is
the best solvent for removing
things?
Let's see how many things it
is good for in removing or
wiping away.
Family, jobs, ur memory, money,
cars, homes, ur education......
Just add some alcohol to ur
life and erase all that uve worked
so hard for in ur life.
What else can u add that alcohol
has ereased in ur life?

Thanks for the post Sharon. I agree that alcohol would take everything away from me that I've worked for in my recovery, very quickly. It took much from me before I got sober.
Self-esteem, self-confidence and self-love was something that alcohol stripped from me also. It's a daily work in progress for me but I've managed to rebuild much of this in my recovery!!
Nice one, Peace.

Ha ha, yes, and I guess it disinfects too. I use it to kill germs on my face (without getting too graphic). And in the past I used to use it to wipe away what bothered me. We usually say we were filling a void as alcoholics, but I also use the phrase "chipping away." It chipped away at things so that I didn't feel their presence. It seemed like I didn't suffer from fears that way. It seemed like I didn't dwell on negatives as much. But it chips away the good stuff too (that's how I ended up reaching the point of quitting). And since it chips away at the insides, I can see the damage it's done over the years when I look at my skin from the drinking. Some of it doesn't look as bad as before, but it's still there. On the bright side, I guess I can say it gives me "character." That's what they usually say to compensate for someone's superficial defects. The deep ones were shown through drinking.
