Nope! My efforts involved an iPhone app that tracks the number of drinks and tells my presumed blood-alcohol level; my game was "I'm fine as long as the app says I'm not over the legal limit." Funny how after about drink #8 they were mysteriously no longer being entered into said app. :hypnotize |
If I could control it, I wouldn't be here. |
Oh man those lists are funny, I mean I know they're really kind of sad but they're funny because I did the exact same kinds of things. - only 1 drink before dinner and 1 after - drink 2 days, sober for 1 - no liquor during the week, just wine and beer - one fifth of liquor a week, no more - one beer before starting the liquor, to prevent me from drinking too much liquor - nothing after 8:30PM - nothing before 8:30PM - drink only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - smoke pot instead of drinking - smoke a little pot and drink just a little - smoke pot but no liquor - no drinking before 5PM (I only started breaking this one right before I quit) So yeah, obviously the moderation attempts didn't work for me at all. |
"Only drink on 4 weeknights... and of course weekends are free, everybody does that." Okay, that's 6 days a week, and the 7th quickly got taken too. "Only 4 drinks on weeknights... fine, maybe 8... and everybody drinks on weekends so 14 is a good number." I thought I wasn't an alcoholic because I could moderate on certain occasions, like when family members were closely watching me and I could have 2 glasses of wine... but on those occasions, I spent the entire time staring down everyone else's drinks, willing them to just magically appear in my hand. |
