I haven't had a drink in 140 days.

I've been off of a mountain of benzos for 147 days.

I haven't smoked marijuana for 182 days.

I'm 9,315 miles from my youngest daughter, who will turn 15 in a few days.

I was 14 when I started using drugs.

I went cold turkey from benzos and booze and ended up in the psych ward for 10 days. I nearly died.

I've been to 2 AA meetings, and I'll be back.

I turned my back on God 9,473 times (a conservative guess). I now know he's been with me the 19,710 days I've been alive.

I can readily think of 3 times I should have died, and guess there are 54 times I was close to death and didn't realize it.

The sun came up once today, and unless the aliens arrive or man screws up worse than he has so far, it will set once tonight.

This is ONE more day I will not drink or take drugs (and I'm going to smoke only 32 cigarettes instead of 33).

He said, no...you didn't. Alcohol causes us to turn away from God. Yes we did it, but alcohol makes us do it. It becomes our God. It has it's demands.

It robs us of all will to resist it's demands.

Good for you on the good #'s, sorry you're so far from your daughter. Keep those good #'s climbing and you may see the sun 'rise' more than once a day.
