I am so happy it is day 4!

It seems funny that I could be happy with being sober for only 4 days but I have done it this time with out Antabuse and only with personal will power and the phenomenal help from the great people at SR. I slept much better last night. Not as many crazy dreams, sweats, or waking up every hour on the hour. Going home is becoming easier I have my bottle of Lemon Perrier water and I am taking a different route. When I get home I eat right away and then only drink water with crushed ice and a lemon slice in it. Plus I spend about an hour or so reading posts instead of drinking. Thank you so much everyone!

Thumbs up

Yay! 4 days is awesome! I've heard it said we alcoholic have an abundance of "will power" That's what keeps getting us in trouble. What we need is "wont power" Haha! So glad you are here friend! Lemon Perrier is some good stuff, think I'll switch out my chamomile tea for it when the weather warms up again. Have an awesome day!

i clearly remember my day 4 which was very much like yours (especially the sleep part).

i hope Day 5 is just as awesome for you..

in early sobriety, iwent on this cleaning frenzy in the evenings, because I was tired of living like a slob....I set aside about an hour every night after work and just tackled one thing that I could see the results...(putting away piles of clothes or de-cluttering and making bags for the Vietnam Vets pick-up)...just being able to see the improvement was helpful....my first sober weekend I went grocery shopping and cooked a real dinner.

That's how I did it and it worked. Going on five months on the 14th. Cleansing the system feels good physically and is enlightening/empowering mentally. Why run from alcohol when you can walk away instead. You are doing great!

Four days sober is a big deal and it's the start to a better life too.

Way to go Jude! Great idea about eating right away when you get home and thinking of things to substitute for the alcohol. You're doing great! And yes, 4 days is something to be proud of!!

Way to go! It sounded crazy to me the first time I decided to be sober, but 4 days were the longest days of my life. Every hour felt like a day! Glad that you are sleeping better. Keep up the good work!
