First AA Meeting
Hello all.....
Have only posted once in this forum. I attended my first AA meeting this evening, and what a good experience. I will probably never forger the look of enthusiasm on the young lady's face when I asked if I was in the right place.
It's comforting to know that so many people just like me have been affected by this illness.

AWESOME!!!! Good for you DJPilot. I'm not sure if you are an alcoholic or just went there to learn more. For me, I am an alcoholic and have found AA to be very helpful, life saving actually. The key for me was finding a location / meeting that I felt comfortable in. Today I have that and have made quite a few friends there. I wish you the best!!!
To be honest, I really can't even recall all that much of my very first one but I wasn't really willing to get sober that time. When I came back to AA I was and even then, it's a bit fuzzy. I just remember this guy barking at me how I needed to do 90 meetings and how I needed to get a sponsor. Well, I barked at him back in all my eloquence in the room and said, 'why don't you put yer money where yer mouth is then, and be my sponsor!' He shocked the heck outta me when he said 'okay'.
But he was right, for 'me' at that time, it was what I needed to do if I was gonna have any chance at all back then.
Good luck, I hope you find a meeting you feel at home in. Sometimes even the same one you go to may 'seem' different. It's like reading the Big Book different times.
I could swear little gremlins are in that book who change the words sometimes. :rotfxko
