Thank you so much!
Yesterday I celebrated 30 days of sobriety. I have read soooooo many stories on here on a daily basis and found each and every one of them encouraging. December 1st was my last drink and December 3rd was my first AA meeting. I can't believe I actually even went. I am very shy so this was extremely out of my character. I don't need to explain what happened or how I ended up there because just like so many others on here, I'm an alcoholic so I'm sure you already know what got me there; lots of emotional pain, all self esteem lost, family being torn apart, etc etc...
This last month has not been all that easy but thanks to my AA sponsor, some incredible women I have met and even became friends with as well as this forum, I did not drink. I have had sober nights with my kids watching movies, sober days with my family, I have even laughed which is something I have not done in a long time. I am learning how to pray and slowly learning how to turn things over to my higher power. We are playing a little tug of war, but I keep being told that one day I will really learn how to let go and let God run show the show. I pray every night that all of us, not just me which is also new for me because I am one selfish alcoholic, either get sober, stay sober and one day be available to help another alcoholic. I can't wait for the day that my experience, strength and hope can help someone else suffering just as people on here and in my AA meetings have done for me.

Good job on making it to 30, I found those first milestones the most difficult in achieving because of the fact that you're still trying to get accustomed to the new way of life. Before you know it you'll be at a year.
