brothers a heroin addict
 

tonight my family caught my brother shooting heroin hes 24 no job or health insurance and we dont know what to do.for the past few months he has been stealing money from my parents and couldnt figure out why till now. hes threatening to kill himself or run away so im staying up all night to keep a watch. we called some places but being the holidays were kind of out of luck till monday. im doing everything i can too make sure he cant kill himself or use and im getting alot of hate from him towards me it breaks my heart. ive never done drugs and i hate what its done to my brother

Sorry to hear this. Heroin is a nasty drug. My older cousins have been caught up in heroin for the longest time. It is a bitch to shake.

As Dee said, check the F&F forum. The only other suggestions I have is to look for a rehab or try Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program.

were going to try anything we can my dad had to go threw this with his sister when he was young i guess history is repeating itself and im in his shoes now. what scares me is shes now in a mental persons home i hope my bro can get through this and doesnt fall down that road

I went through this with a family member. It was crack. Lies and excuses, lies and excuses. Total selfishness. I empathize with you and hope he makes better choices.

Making sure someone does not kill themself is not a responsibility someone should take on alone. If you fear for his safety please call 911, or report it to the police.
