New to site...Wanted to introduce myself..
Hi, I am new to the site and have read thru a few posts and such and i think the information and help here can help me with my recovery.
I have struggled over the last year in and out of AA... This has taken a toll on me, my wife and our relationship. She loves me and we are working on it, but it starts with me!!!
I recently just picked up another white chip. I have so many now that i can tile a bathroom. I want to stop, need to stop, but sometimes slip up. I will go 2-3 weeks, or a month or two and have a one night episode. I don't like who i am when i drink or the things I do. I tend to frequent nudie bars.
I still have my wife, kids a house two cars and money is not an issue and my performance has not at all been affected with work. Never had any trouble with the law either.
However, as they say, these are "yets". i am looking for tools to get past that feeling when it comes. I need to call my sponsor, pray more and realize that it's the first drink that is damaging!
I really want to be a better person for myself, my wife and family. So, with that said, i look forward to being a member here and the help it can bring to my recovery. Thanks

Welcome!
You are so right, they are just yets as of now. I still had all those things, but knew i had to stop before any of the "not yet" actually happened.
Good for you. Stay strong. It is hard, but it is worth it. You can beat it! Never give up.

Welcome...
I am AA. I have found the 12 step support section valuable for me as I worked through them. Come on over if you want to share your own experience and hear others!!
Newcomers are always welcome anywhere at SR. Keep coming back.

When I began my AA steps....I felt a shift from often shakey
sobriety into solid recovery....
AA is not the only way out of addiction.
Many of our members are happily sucessfully sober
useing a variety of methods.
Welcome to our recovery community
Welcome Saleen - glad you're here. We all need support to do this and you've come to a great place. I've come here many times when I was having a hard time resisting and I just read and read until the compulsion passed.
You really can make it stick this time!

Welcome to a great place for support and friendship. I've found so much help here and it directly contributed to my recent one year sober anniversary.
Take it one day at a time. STay in the moment and be good to yourself. Giving up drinking has gotten my good health back. Living sober rocks!
