Day two draws near.
When I first sought to control my drinking, I decided to take up running.
In the begining I could not run 1 mile. I'd spend five minutes on an eliptical, then hop onto a treadmill for the last 60 second sprint. That went on for months.
Eventually I worked up to running one mile. I'd set the pace at 6 miles an hour and go as long as I could. Slowly 1 mile turned to 2, then 3, then 6, 10, 20 and more. I wasn't fast, but I'd catch up to you as the miles wore on.
I can't run anymore. I'm thankful to walk. The drinking, of course it came back. So today I run a different race.
As day two draws to a close I can see milemarker 2 just ahead. I will run past it. See you tomorrow on day 3.

All who finish the race are winners. All get the medal. The loosers are those who stay home and those who fail to try.
Its only day two. I'm in the rear of the pack. I'll watch the runners in front of me. I will try to keep pace.
You are those runners. Thank you.
