Just Reporting Back

I was quite anxious about going out to see my hubs band play tonight. Was Afraid I'd be tempted. Well I just got home, and I did not drink (unless you count selZer and cranberry, lol). I was with a friend, she asked me if I was having a child, I said not that I know of. Then she ordered herself a non alcoholic beverage. Imagine that.

Looks like I've made it to day 7 :-)

Congrats on day 7!!! I had to laugh about you "being with child" and saying "not that I know of" Even better that SHE ordered a non-alcoholic drink

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Congrats on day 7! Guess you were right about why they would think you were not drinking. Try not to worry bout what they think though. Anyway...awesome job.

Good for you for staying sober!! It'll get easier as the sober days add up.

Awesome! I had a similair experience. Got really nervous about going out to dinner. I ordered and diet pepsi instead of a beer and my mom ordered a diet pepsi instead of a beer herself! I made it. Looking back, I really shouldn't have gotten so worked up about it. Hopefully, next time I can be a little more relaxed and not so worried! Great job!

You could always say "we're trying so I want to be careful just in case I am" too.

Thanks everyone. If I continue to be asked about it. I plan on telling my friends I don't drink because I don't want to anymore, rather than make excuses. If I can't be honest with my friends, I guess I need new friends right? I know the subject will come up with this particular friend, because she and her boyfriend are both really into beer. She bartends at a place that specializes in craft beer. He works at a local brewery and is going to school to become a master brewer. It will be unusual for me to abruptly stop coming into the bar. Also, we hang out a lot because we are neighbors.

Congrats on one week sober, oakleaf, AND for being in that atmosphere and staying sober! I've grown to love cranberry and seltzer! It's kind of festive in it's own way (pretty good with lime but thinking I'll try an orange or cherry in it next time).

Keep up the good work - it's just gotten better and better for me in the past 7 months.
