Album of the Day - Dec 8, 2010

Music can be very inspiring, and can help you through recovery. I think I am going to post albums, one a day, that are helping me at the moment. Each day, I will try to post a new album, and hopefully get some feedback as to whether or not it was helpful for you. I'm early in recovery, and I'm hoping this will be a good way for me to get out of myself, because for those who know the AA principles, this is key. And for me, I've always enjoyed sharing music with friends, because I love music. so.

Today is Dec 8. Only 17 days until Christmas. I personally can't stand the traditional Christmas carols and hymns that you hear on the radio. Most of the time, I can't stand Christmas in general. But, I do enjoy the snow, and the magical feeling Christmas still has. The following album, puts me in that magical mood. I'm sure a lot of you have listened to some of this artists music, and know how beautiful her music is. So, if you are looking for something inspiring to listen to, give the following a go. It's like a soundtrack to a winters life. Enjoy

Enya - And Winter Came

1. And Winter Came
2. Journey Of The Angels
3. White Is In The Winter Night
4. O Come O Come Emmanuel
5. Trains And Winter Rains
6. Dreams Are More Precious
7. Last Time By Moonlight
8. One Toy Soldier
9. Stars And Midnight Blue
10. The Spirit Of Christmas Past
11. My! My! Time Flies!
12. Oiche Chiuin [Chorale]

Yes, Anna, it is that time of Year again... what a loss.

My new favorite Christmas album for 2010 is Kate Rusby, "Sweet Bells"... Check out the first one...

YouTube - Kate Rusby - Sweet Bells - 01 - Here We Come a Wassailing

Love and Joy Come to You
And To You a Wassail Too
May God Bless You and Send You
a Happy New Year
May God Send You a Happy New Year

...and Northland, You probably won't hear it on the radio ;)... it's anything but that over produced and processed commercial christmas that's often devoid of any spirit...

I like Enya too!

See there, you got me started on music, you shouldn't do that... :)

and where are those christmas smilies??

I get such a gush of relief from this one for some reason. I find it so emotional!!!!!!!!!! A release? I cry!!!!!!! LOL.

YouTube - Beatles - Let It Be

LOL, VC, me too!

When I was at a Paul McCartney concert and he started singing 'Let it Be', tears started and just wouldn't stop. It made me realize how much that song is like a prayer and how much it had been part of the fabric of my life.

I think that's why music helps us to heal.

Exactly Anna, it basically tells you to just let it all go!!!!!!!! I just bawled my eyes out! I am such a weenie!
