This is better than sex.
Hello all.
Feeling fantastic this week after weeks of feeling pretty awful. Not sure what's happening in the 'old noggin' but I'm loving it. No fogginess, no headaches, no anger, positive thoughts......the lot!
I'm a 100 days sober this week and hopefully this is the turning point where I really start to see a difference. I know from the testimonials on these forums that life only gets better the longer I go and I really feel now that I can do this. I equally know that tomorrow might not be as good, but tomorrow's another day and I'm going to enjoy today and keep the memories 'in the bank' in case I need to draw on them in the future.
It really is a roller-coaster ride in early sobriety and I'm thankful that today is a good day. I am now convinced that the longer I'm sober the more days like this I will have until eventually all days are great.
Here's to the future.........Bring it on!

I like the part of keeping the memories in the memory bank for future reference..good idea Mister! And good job on your run of sobriety. It does feel so good being sober. I know I feel freedom. I didn't like driving drunk (although..like a dummy I did do that at times) so I would get my drinks of choice and drink at home. Lock down time so to speak. If I wanted to run to the store or if something came up..I was grounded. Once the drinking started the options went out the window. Now..I am FREE! Happy Thanksgiving.
We all have good days and we have bad days. So I can relate to the roller coaster ride. I'm going on 11 months and I still have pretty crappy days, but I've learned to just deal with them and not pick up a drink or pipe. The knowledge of knowing that the bottle and pipe are only temporary fixes get me through the bad days, also knowing that they are what got me in the funk in the first place helps too. I'm glad your feeling good. Keep it up.

Hi Downster,
I have 105 days, and I can relate 100%. I can think again (I am on Campral, also, which helps repair the brain's balance) and I am generally happy and much calmer. Today was a bad day, but I didn't drink and I am OK now.
Have a great, sober holiday!
