Like I'd come home.....and found a non-judgmental family. Very emotional, both funny and heartbreaking. The overriding feeling is now one of strength (something I've never felt before) and when I said I was looking for mental peace. The response was I was in the right place.

Last night I slept really well (the best for years) and today I have a little leaflet called "Just for today" and I'm going to follow that today. Now over to find some freinds on one of the "under" threads

Thanks for your support, reading these posts and speaking to folk last night has really helped.

Hi again Zuri - So glad the meeting went really well for you!

I live on the West Coast (CA) and I work nights. Still am
struggling with insomnia...23 days for me, so you will
find me here in the wee hours of the morning my time.

Not sure what time of day it is in your time, but maybe
we can check in together on this new journey for both of us?

Hope your Sunday continues to feel full of peace and
strength.

It is 3:13 AM Sunday here, and I really gotta try and go
to sleep soon! Got off work at 1:00AM and have to be
back, oh in about 11 hours.

All the best to you Zuri one day at a time!

Zuri, I am so glad to see you went to the meeting!!!

I saw so much of myself in your update about searching for a bottle. OMG how many times did I do that. By coming here and getting help face to face.....you know I haven't one of those nights in quite some time. My recovery has been a blessing and I am grateful everyday for saying no more and reaching for help. I had to and I am so glad to see you doing that as well.

BTW....joining the groups over in Newcomers Support have been so invaluable to me.

Looking forward to your journey!!! Its a new day my friend and new beginning

Hi Zuri and mtn...just wanted to say hello in the wee hours (5.25am here in North Carolina) from someone who's up around this time most days. Congrats to both of you on your sober time. It gets better, I promise!

Hi stephc, Hi mtnmagic

Hope you're both well and coping with the wee small hours, good to hear that you're sleeping mt. I've had a really good couple of days. You'll never believe it but I went to a motorcross event on Sunday (and I'm a girl) took loads of photos (love photography but I've been neglecting it recently) then went to the gym yeserday and spoke to the manager (told him everything) so now we are working on a programme to improve my health and fitness....I've also told my husband that I'm an alcoholic (I've actually said the words) take care both, thinking of you today - speak soon

Hx

Wonderful progress Zuri! I'm delighted for you.
Been in a contemplative mood all day today.
Which means I feel stuck and know I need to change
just about everything in my life, but don't know where
to start. Awk!

Congrat's on telling your husband and no matter what
his reaction was I hope YOU feel positive about the
situation.

And ain't that a scary thought. Funny how we like familiarity. I reckon the best way to do it is one tiny little thing that scares us each day, even if its saying hi to a stranger.

Take care today, catch you later

Hope today went well for you Zuri. Just got home from work and
it is dumping snow like crazy. Sigh. I've got frozen pipes....going
on the third day now. I want winter to be over. Hope all is well
with you at your end of the world!

Steph - How about you? How are you doing? Hope your weather
isn't as bad as my weather, lol!

Hate to say it but a watery spring sunshine is doing its best this morning. Hope you get those frozen pipes sorted, as for the snow - yuk, Scotland almost came to a halt this year with it all.....
I'm off down to the beach with the dogs this morning, then I'm taking my daughter to the zoo. Feeling ok this morning but last night I just wanted to curl up and scream (spent the day dealing with teenagers and their various levels of angst).

Take care today and I'll catch you later - AA meeting tommorrow yay looking forward to it.

This too shall pass and you will live through it...I'm living

Have a lovely day!

Yes we can get through anything. Got through the burst pipes...
they are fixed and I have water, yeah baby! Patience isn't
exactly one of my virtues, and I sure did get to practice it
with this. Four days. I'm all shiny and clean tonight after work.

How are you doing today? How was the beach? Thought of you today.
Been dumping snow all day (and night) again. I'm in the mountains
and they've been shooting off avalanche guns over the last half
hour or so. The booms are so loud they make my windows rattle.
We have gotten literally feet of snow here at the lake level and
even more in the higher mountain elevations.

How was your meeting? Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

Beach as always soothes the soul. AA meeting last night was tough. Feeling a bit flat but not sure why - Can't sleep either............

I'd love to see the snow on the mountains, sounds beautiful - take care
