Need Advice
I am an eight yr user of Methadone and am soon getting off Methadone and on Suboxone. My question is am I doing the right thing or am I just prolonging th inevitable which is withdrawals? I would appreciate any advice on this subject.

I think you're get as many opinions as there are members here on this.
We can share our experience here but we can't give you any kind of medical advice - I think it's important you get professional advice and speak with as many doctors and professionals as you can, because noone here knows your clinical history or your general health.

((Dee)) is right..there are people here who have done the methadone/subs, and others who didn't. Please be honest with your doctor, as I think you have to be off the methadone a certain amount of time before you can go on the subs (but not sure).
I know that once we are really ready to get off the drugs, we find a way and different things work for different people. You will get a lot of support here, and that always helps Recovery is more about getting off the dope, it's kind of like learning to live life in a different way, but it's SO worth it!
