day 1
I made it thru day one having lunch w/ the girls and sitting w/ my boyfriend while he drank a couple beers. Today was easy because I was hungover. Tomorrow I will feel good and want to top off the day with a beer or a "glass " of wine, which has recently turned into a bottle plus.
I have been feeling for months that I need to give it up cuz I cannot seem to stop once I start. Then I hate myself . I am sick of feeling like crap and feel as if time is just passing me by.
Thank God My boyfriend wants to cut back at least

Welcome to the forum, april - I'm glad you're wanting to quit the cycle with alcohol. I was the same kind of drinker: one I opened that wine bottle, I'd always finished it (and towards the end, one wasn't even enough).
It's hard to reach out for support - but it's the best thing you can do. You among friends here who understand.
Congrats for starting a new life (and hang out here when those cravings come!).:ghug3

Welcome april111010
I had a lot of trouble instituting the changes in my life I needed to to stop drinking - but coming here helped me do that.
You'll find a lot of support here too, I know

Welcome! I'm glad you've decided to live a better sober life. Wine was my drug of choice too and could have done me horrible damage had I not stopped drinking. (finally)
I'm glad you found us and joined the family.
