Welcome back, wayfarm!

The last time I decided I could control my drinking it took 8 years to get back to sobriety - glad you didn't wait that long!

Things can be even better this time - and you can make it stick!

In my case it took me 7 yrs. to find my way back, after 3 yrs. sober. I decided I could have 'a couple' glasses of wine.

You can do this - we are here with you.

aa online chatroom has meetings, so does InTheRooms

Listen to aa speakers online

Eat sweets-sugar water, corn syrup in orange juice, tea with lemon + honey, hard candy

Drink water, make sure you eat at least small meals

You found money for booze, maybe you can find money for a doctor

Best wishes! Keep moving forward! You aren't alone anymore!

Welcome back!

I was going to say wow a lot has happened in the last few days, then I saw there was a year in between your posts. Took me a few minutes, I'm not that bright

I do hope that you have better success this time. You may want to also see if there are any Celebrate Recovery meetings in your area if you consider faith to be a big part of your recovery. AA is great and I go to a lot of AA meetings, but I also attend CR and it has helped a lot.

Stay in touch, I'll be praying for you.

Having a solid day. A buddy who is sober advised me not to count the days. Personally I kind of like that advice.

I had rough sleep last night. About an hour into being in bed, I was getting a rough type feeling in my throat, no bad taste like before. But I didn't like the feeling. Later I had a weird feeling like lots of tiny pins being stuck into me. It was localized and accompanied by the infamous moving itch. Kept me up, but I just prayed, and tried to relax. I got a little sleep. Of course I got the bad nightmares. It was my daughter and I in the back of a truck. A large pack of wild dogs came by. First time they came by, we laid low and they past. For whatever reason we stayed there, and the dogs smelled us and began attacking the truck. Of course my daughter was in a panic, and it made the dogs crazy.

But I can see how different this is. I have an appetite, I'm working, feel solid.
