away for a couple of days
as most of you know I don't get around much anymore LOL
Ive had trouble with my legs for the past few years, so I've been mostly housebound...and while that has its advantages, it can be a little stultifying too...
Thankfully the exercise I've been doing and the weight loss and healthy eating is helping...so this weekend when I got a call to come jam (I'm a bassist/guitarist/singer) I said ...ok!
The set up sounds good - it's a little thing a friend of mine has going periodically to foster new talent.
I'm a little nervous - I've only played twice in public since I got sober, and it is a factor that this weekend will be my first time playing again in a bar... but I'm good with the decision
Jams are what I enjoy - some standards, some blues - and the people I'll be with are good people - all who are non to normal drinkers - so it all should be a blast. I'll have to sit down to play these days, but that should fit the atmosphere, so it all should be cool.
It's in a different town tho so I expect to make a weekend of it - leaving tomorrow and back in a couple days - I hope everyone here has a good sober weekend

Dee - Wishing you the best of luck. I think its great you are getting out and back to something that brings you joy. You are strong and I found getting back to things that I love - sober is like a whole new experience for me
