Hello!
Have been lurking here for a while, finally decided to register, this looks like a great recovery community, with a lot of collective wisdom and experience, looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Welcome, and you're right, this is a great place! I found both this site and AA on March 24 of this year. I haven't had a drink since. I tried many times on my own to stop drinking, and somehow it never "took." Through the support and fellowship I've found on this site and in the rooms of AA, I no longer feel it necessary to consume alcohol. I used to drink whenever I felt there was a problem in my life (which was every day!). Now, I feel there's no situation so bad that alcohol can't make it worse.

I'll echo and ditto whats written before me. It's a great place to be, just like sobriety. One tick at a time I say, move it along and have a plan or program in place and you will succeed. You just made a lot of new friends!
