Hang in there folks! No job but sober.
Hang in there folks! No job but sober.
I'm back! Not that I've done anything wrong, at least not lately.
18 months ago, I didn't think I'll live without alcohol. So, I had deer-light eyes just at the thought of going sober. Back then, I had my first champagne at 13 and I drank for 25 years. It was fun at first but when high stress and several crisis came along, drinking became an escape to my own world.
But as a result of my carelessness, I lost my $75,000 accounting job, got reported to CPS, wrecked my car which is still a reminder today, and almost got a divorce. But that wasn't me. I'm smart, good-looking, and came from a happy middle class family.
And I didn't wait until I was a skid-row drunk living under a bridge. AA help me; I learned not to take that first drink. Now, I try to live in peace.
You can, too.

Great message, bike! I didn't think I could do it either. I guess we all think our problem(s) are worse than the next person, or that we have some underlying mental weakness, but thank goodness for this place, AA and all the other people who help us on a daily basis.
I'm glad you're doing so well.
