update...........

hello everyone.. I have not posted in awhile. I now have 68 days clean, wow. finally got out of the vicious cycle, quitting for 1 -2 weeks, then relapsing again. What seemed to work this time was that I totally immersed myself into my music(home recording studio) and my studies at school. I really think it is important that we all find something else we really enjoy doing to keep our minds off of our addictions, at least in the beginning. oh, and I am working on the steps(step 2 with my sponsor) and meetings regularly. hope everyone is doing well.

Good for you, Petewill! Thanks for posting; it's really helpful for me as a newbie (today is day 12) to hear from people at your "level" of sobriety. All the best to you.

Well done Pete and Caribbean,
Day 20 today!!!! Yea, it is nice to hear from people in similar stages. Aren't we the bee's knees? It is getting easier but I am nervous of getting complacent and have my moments. The sneaky, what ifs? Oh this is a bad motherf!!!! Sorry for the profanity, but it helps me to think of booze as the ultimate badguy!

Good for you, Pete!

And, I agree that it's really important to find something that you are passionate about.

Nice going Pete ! That makes sense to find a task to take ones mind off of the urges . The relapse thing scares me . 68 days-that is cool keep it up !

Great job on the 68 days, Pete! It always helps to have something to do. I never want to be bored or hungry; those are the times when the thought of a drink creeps in.
