Shannon, here is our collective experience in getting thru w/d. But please do ask your doctor for help in doing this safely.

Shannon, WD is or isn't a big deal.

Some have it from very little drinking (by "our" standards), some don't have it with very heavy drinking. What hurts one person might not even phase another. There's just no set of rules.

Getting the shakes....that's a good indication that there's something going on that needs to be looked at. I'm NOT big personally on going to the doctor - it's a defect of mine that I haven't overcome yet. When I stopped I had no shakes, no puking (I had not puked in almost 8yrs of drinking like a lunatic either though) nothing really. The mental part was the worst for me.

That said......there are MANY ppl who have very severe physical WD problems and if you wait till it's too late........it's too late, yanno? That's why medical supervision or consultation is highly recommended. Get another set of qualified eyes on you just to help ensure you're ok.

---and read that link that Least just posted above.

welcome to the family and good luck
