Dealing with challenge and the wisdom of a 4-year old.
The wife and I were just having a conversation over dinner about the challenge of me going back to work in the wine shop tomorrow.
Wife: Are you going to be ok?
Me: I'm just not sure how I'm going to do...
W: Well, try not to think about it.
Me: I mean, how am I going to pour for people when there's open bottles there?
4-year old: It's easy, daddy. When the bottle is like this (holds hand vertical as if holding a bottle), you just turn it like this (holds hand horizontal) over the glass, and you pour it.
Blank stares from mommy and daddy, then we both erupt into laughter!
Sometimes I think I overthink this. Maybe a simple and direct approach to control is the best, most peaceful and easy route.
Anyway, thought you might find this a humorous point to meditate on for the evening.

I feel for you. I have a few friends I met in rehab who are bartenders and cocktail waitress. Perhaps it would help if you knew what your triggers were or if the craving get unbearable there are non habit forming medication that helps with craving/compulsion.
I know this may sound crazy. I live with my ex and there is lots of wine in the house. He drinks a bottle a night (believe or not but not an alcoholic.) I have 43 days today. I figure if you want to stop your going to. Eventually it won't bother you. I really think your obsessing over your job. Just get through 1 month there and eventually the wine will be just be that. I have faith in you. Really.
