Today's shopping trip
Well, I just got back from the grocery store.
I went for milk, fish, and chayote squash. I came back with milk fish and chayote squash, for once. Nothing else. It was tough, but I stuck to the plan. I did get one item I didn't plan on. Oreos. Oreos to dip in my coffee. And they are mine. All mine.
But no drink, and I'm pretty proud of that.

I always feel good passing the wine aisle knowing I no longer need to buy wine. Saves money, time, my health, my reputation, and saves me from legal trouble. Yes it's good to go to the store without bringing home alcohol.

I did a big grocery shopping my first weekend sober...and I cooked! (brought my mom veal at the nursing home, she praised my cooking which is rare).
it will only help you feel better if you eat well...what kind of squash is that? how do you cook it.

Thanks everybody! Feeling quite a bit better, actually.
Fandy: chayote is a mexican squash that you cook like you would summer squash. Cut into 1/4" slices, and saute with green onions, a little nutmeg, and some lime for about 5 minutes.

Yeah when I went grocery shopping yesterday I actually stopped and stared at the Wine/Spirits section in disbelief. I could not believe that I would not be going down that aisle ever again. I sort of freaked out at that thought and reminded myself 'one day at a time'. Man, sometimes that really works. WTG June for getting through it all.
