My 1st Birthday Sober
I know I am living one day at a time, but I wanted to post today since I won't have internet access this weekend.
Today I am sober for 264 days, and tomorrow I will be celebrating my birthday sober for the 1st time. Instead of celebrating my birthday drunk, by myself like I used to prefer, I will be spending it with my closest freinds and family who will be happy to see me, instead of worrying about me.
I could not be happier in my life now. I am at peace with myself, I feel grounded, and that everything is going to be ok. I live in the moment, and enjoy life.
Thanks to all of you for helping me get to where I am today and for making all my days better.
Life sober continues to surprise me and make me happier day after day. Now I cant wait to see what happens next. It used to be that I didnt want tomorrow to come. This is the way life should be.
All the best to everyone!

Happy birthday! I, too, celebrated my first sober birthday this month. First one since I turned 21. It was sooo much fun. I went out with a couple of my closest friends for dinner, and had a great day with my husband. If I had been drinking, I wouldn't have been able to go out with my friends, because I had to drive across the state to see them, and I know there would have been no sense in the 3 of them driving out to me when they are all in the same area.
