My first friday night sober (ie: no happy hour) What do I do with myself?
My first sober weekend was difficult - I think I spent a good part of it here at SR. Another thing I did was treat myself to some good food (I was pretty hungry that first week). It helped with the cravings and gave me something to look forward to around that dinner hour. If course, eating your way sober isn't nearly as good as exercising (!), but it definitely worked for me.
Also cleaned out my closet, which was piled with so much stuff I could hardly get to my clothes. It felt so good to think I was doing something I'd put off for ages. Give it time - you'll come to see free time as a perk instead of a burden!!

Hey Living...my second Friday sober and it feels great. The down days and weekends can be tough from what I have read. The gym sounds great. I haven't been on my treadmill in 3 weeks and keep telling myself I will...but I have been EATING tons. Not a great idea cause I sure don't want to get out of shape but it makes me feel satisfied and full so it's all good I guess.
Just think...no drinkie on Friday means no stinkie on Saturday...nothing worse than a weekend full of pain and remorse.
Keep up the GREAT work!
