Hi guys! Sober since last Thursday, so that makes 6 days for me. I'm feeling good, I'm eating food each meal, which is important because I have always drank on an empty stomach to get a better buzz. When my mind is telling me to drink, if I put food in my stomach, the cravings go away. I'm walking everyday, feeling better because of that. I have not done any physical exercise in months - just work. My days would go like this.... go to work, not eat, drink after work, bursts of energy, clean the house (half arsed at that), blackout, pass out, wake up anxious, fearful, hating myself, swearing not to drink again. I'd be sick all day, not drink, go to bed early, wake up the following day feeling half decent - cravings.......drink.....hate myself.......on and on for 32 years now. I'm 48 and determined to not drink today - and today is almost over so I have an 100% chance of being sober one more day. Tomorrow one minute at a time if I have to, posting, exercise, praying, and keeping busy since it's my day off tomorrow too. I'm grateful to be here. |
Keep on keeping on Junior33, ok? We can do this!! Last night I was so excited to go to my CR meeting. We had movie night and watched "Flywheel". Had chips and dip, candy, popcorn and alot of fun together. Day 14 is gone now - I'm on day 15 and ready to knock this one out of the ballpark! Let's go team and do it today! |
never said this before in my life...but...HI I'm Nate and I'm a alcoholic. today is my 4th day without a drink and I have a life time to go. I stubbled across this site this morning and I feel it will be a great tool in my recovery...I hope to be here for sometime...I need it...for me and my family prayers to all! |
Hi n8te!! Welcome and yes you will find great info and awesome support here. I find that posting my thoughts/feelings and just reading every post I can helps me get through the day. This is a great place to be and great job on day 4. If I can do it, so can you. |

we all got to stick together...weekend is coming and I'm going to stay strong...I have no choice in the matter...its either alcohol or my family. and for once in my life i'm going to choose my family. I can do this, YOU can do this, WE CAN DO THIS! I'm proud of all of us! prayers to all! |
September 9th was my day....it was 26 years ago in 1984. I havent used or drank since. Seems like yesterday.... I realize many see me as a old fart, sometimes I feel old. I am one of the luckest old farts I know. I got clean and sober young and due to this program.....my life has been saved from years of pain. I got sober when I was 18 years old.....44 now and I feel like I got my whole life ahead of me. Congrats Sept. folks! |

Hello Sept Class ~ I am on day # 4. Would be day # 5, but I went out Sat night with my sisters and had 4 light beers. Didn't get drunk, but still... Anyway, glad to be here. Glad to have another sober day with you all. |
