Finally . . .sober
Finally . . .sober
After a lot of years, I finally got sober. I had the quintesential scared straight moment in an asthma attack exacerbated by the excess alcohol. I knew if I didn't quit drinking - - the next time, I might just quit breathing and not recover. Sure, I drank a few times after "to test the waters" and had mini episodes, nothing serious, but enough to tell me to quit being stupid, THE PARTY IS OVER. It has been a couple of months now. I still drink Bloody Mary's and love them, but today, they don't have vodka in them anymore. You bet, I still think about it and want it, but I have to stop and ask myself to I want to live or die?
