Two years sober today
Two years ago today I had my last drink. I debated about where in the forums to post this, but I still feel pretty new in my sobriety, and I know I have a long way to go before my life looks the way I want it to look.
Still, it is wonderful to get up each day free from enslavement to alcohol. What I do, or don't do, each day is a choice that I make, not the result of my compulsion to drink, and for that I am very grateful.
I've only been on these forums a short time, and I posted a long intro post with my story here: , so I'll pass on repeating the whole saga today. I'll be sharing it with one of my home groups tomorrow night.
I appreciate the wisdom of so many on these forums, and I've read a lot that has given me much to think about. Thank you to everyone who has helped to keep me sober another day.
