My first AA meeting was on a college campus and the group had mostly younger males (20-29ish), which was helpful since I pictured all AA members as old chain-smoking men
The meeting was small, which I didn't want, and the setting was very homey, which I also didn't want...but other members approached me immediately after the meeting, gave me some phone numbers, made me feel welcome. What I didn't want was exactly what I needed LOL
(Oh, btw, I didn't speak for the first three meetings)
