being sober again, seeing the world this way,and liking it a lot....
3 yr old growing up fast, hanging out with her,
the beach, the sea, the rocks, the solitude and peace,
honest humble sincere people,
challenges,adventures,wonders.....

Realising that I feel happy.

Listening to my music and being at peace. Not yearning to intensify the experience through drink and drugs.

Playing my guitar and being at peace. Not yearning to intensify the experience through drink and drugs.

Having gratitude for my recovery.

Feeling comfortable in my own skin.

Having acceptance that I am where I am meant to be. Being grateful for where I am.

Accepting my alcoholism and embracing my recovery. Seeing it as a gift bearer rather than a negative affliction.

Peace and Love.

These are likely to change as my recovery continues but in the last two weeks of sobriety I've noticed that these things are what are making me happiest right now:

Chatting to my Dad without fear of the 'what a state you were in last night' conversation popping up.

Remebering yesterday.

Being free of paranoia. (Nearly)

Reading a book on the train.

A clean, well kept home.
Money in the bank.
But, most important, the relationship I have with my son, just awesome!

Oh, what a nice thread... for me, when the 5 year old I baby sit tells me he loves me- I feel wonderful. He's the only one who tells me that.
